Community Projects

EntreAmigos provides a focus for positive change in San Pancho.

July 2006 was the first annual PLANTA SAN PANCHO event!   More than 125 people joined together to plant 500 new plants and trees along the main avenue and other public spaces.  The plants were donated by Bahia de Banderas, the labor to plant was donated by the people and children of San Pancho.

In February 2007, we finished the job by planting 100 shrubs and ornamental plants in San Pancho’s central plaza.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated in entreAmigos' first Spring Festival event on April 8th!   We had an overwhelming turnout of over 200 people, which was so wonderfully unexpected that it caused a massive search for extra tables and chairs at the beginning of the event.

The Spring Festival was planned as a way to recognize the accomplishments of the children in the town, as a celebration of the whole community and as a fundraiser.  The teachers at the kindergarten, elementary and jr. high schools selected children who had either the highest grade point averages or who had shown the most improvement during the year.  We celebrated the accomplishments of forty children, gave them each a small gift certificate for school supplies in the coming year.

Saturday July 21st, 2007 was the second "Planta San Pancho" event.  Quite a turn out of volunteers, about 60 children of all ages and 30 adults.  Bahia de Banderas donated over 700 plants and trees, the plants and trees were planted along various streets in San Pancho, near the schools and along the river bed  The planting work was quickly finished followed by a lunch in the town plaza for the volunteers.   Planta San Pancho proves to be a great way for the community to get together for a fun and rewarding project.
